Yinon Avior Philipsohn - Photographic Quilts

The creation of the photographic quilts starts with processing photographs that I took with either/both digital and analog cameras. Once I have the visual content in its raw form, I print the images as a grid with an inkjet printer. The printing of more than one photograph is usually done in a random order, layered on top of each other, which creates a cluster of moments happening at once, forming a new image. The prints go through a process of plastic-coating and often get cropped afterwards. When I have all inkjet prints coated with plastic, I sew them together with a sewing machine.

The first quilts were created in 2017 and the technique had gone through different alterations since, from placing elements between the paper and the plastic to using different types of printers.
