Flæsh, 2013 -
Flæsh is a series of photographs that are taken in dark rooms of two kinds:
(1) rooms which are used for different photographic practice and (2) rooms which are used for sexual practice.
The projected footage portrays a gloomy kingdom which is a hybrid of many architectural fragments and different interior elements coming from all the spaces that I have visited during the years.

The photo-shooting takes place when the spaces are closed for users but ready to be used – completely dark. To move around in a pitched-black sight, I use the automat flash of an analog camera. Since my encounter with these spaces did not happen before, I get to know the space only after I have developed the films.

As a man who uses both types of rooms, I find it interesting to reflect that In both places the term “exposure” has a wide range of meaning. A flash in a photography dark room will burn the surface of a paper/film rendering the sheet unable to hold an image anymore while a flash in a sex dark room will reveal the users’
Black Hole Eclipse, 2013 - 2025
A series of unique photograms made with self made reversed camera obscura.

Black Hole Eclipse is a series of unique photograms made with a self-made reversed camera obscura. Instead of projecting light from outside into a darkened room, the device projects light from inside the room outward through a small aperture.
The project began with a fascination with the non-existence at which the cursor arrow points: its hotspot. The tip of the arrow marks the precise coordinates of the point being indicated, creating a peculiar relationship between a visible image and the point it designates. The actual point of reference is effectively empty.
The pointed-at emptiness was the starting point, until I decided to project a concrete image of emptiness: a hole. I selected moments from pornographic films in which an anus appears at the exact center of the screen on which the film is viewed. These images were projected through the aperture of the reversed camera obscura onto light-sensitive paper, producing unique photograms.

Addendum

My Cock Collection: Addendum, 2010 - 2012
A4 Color print - image size: 5.25 X 7 cm
“My Cock Collection” is a massive database that I have created during 2010 – 2012. What started as a dick-document (a collection of thousands anonymous penises), collected via Chatroulette and later via Manroulette, became a broader survey of virtual reality.
What is a “Chat-Roulette”? The Idea is simple: Once logged into a certain web-page, people around the world are able to activate their webcams and randomly see and be seen by another party anywhere on the planet, free of charge and free of social appearance restrictions. Everyone is welcome regardless of age, gender, race etc. Furthermore, since there is no content control, people can do whatever they want in front of their cameras.
The Chatroulette concept became globally known when a bright kid from Russia launched the website “Chatroulette.com” in 2010. The new innocent social platform was a big hit everywhere and people from all around the world took part in it. Before long it became a sexual platform that served as an endless digital cruising space. The social and cultural implications were overwhelming and interesting. In the same screen and within a time frame of a few seconds, one could see an 80 year old man talking, a six year old kid eating and a teenage girl masturbating, one after another.
Although all types of individuals had the power to decide what they will do and show in front of others, there was one group that took over the majority of the visual content that was seen on this platform – Dicks. The climate in Chatroulette fascinated me and I have decided to explore and challenge the relations between Photography, Masculinity and Sexuality in the digital era; among many other subjects such as privacy, exploitation and consent.
